Moderate

Same as Low — a permit is required, and daytime burning is at the Chief Fire Official's discretion. Conditions can tighten quickly at this rating.

High

All daytime burning permits and incinerator permits are suspended. A campfire is allowed after 6:00 PM and must be out before 6:00 AM — a permit is still required.

Extreme

A total fire ban applies: no fires, regardless of any permit held. Wait for the rating to drop.

For a daytime burning permit, contact the Fire Department directly — daytime permits "can only be obtained through the Fire Department" and require Chief Fire Official (or designate) approval.
