Can I burn today in Burk's Falls?
Burk's Falls’s by-law does not set out what each fire danger rating allows, so this page cannot tell you whether today is a burning day. Today’s rating is beside this, and the fire hall below has the answer.

A rating is not permission. A fire ban can be declared at any time. Burk's Falls and District Fire Department (joint department serving Armour Township, the Village of Burk's Falls and the Township of Ryerson) decides — not this page.
Check the current forest fire rating for the Village before burning — posted on the Village Fire Department web page and on the Forest Fire Rating Board at Ontario Street & Ryerson Crescent in Burk's Falls (other boards at Hwy 11 & Doe Lake Road in Armour, and at the Ryerson Municipal Office/Garage, Hwy 520 & Midlothian Road).
No permit is issued for domestic/recreational burning by the Burk's Falls & District Fire Department; burn only when the posted rating and by-law allow it.
Keep recreational fires to a maximum of 2 ft x 2 ft and at least 6 metres from adjacent properties; non-recreational fires maximum 2 m x 2 m and at least 25 metres clearance.
Burn only untreated or natural materials; no accelerants; attend the fire continuously and keep water, shovels and containment tools on hand.
For a contractor/land-clearing or demolition burn associated with new construction, contact the Fire Prevention Officer at 705-788-4676 (fpo@ryersontownship.ca) to arrange the required fire safety inspections; inspection costs apply.
