Permit required (Section 3.2)
No person shall light or maintain any fire without first obtaining a permit from Town Hall, located at 253 Main Street, Iroquois Falls, during regular business hours. Fees for burning permits are set out in Schedule "A" of this by-law.
Urban vs. rural restriction (Section 3.4-3.5)
No permit shall be issued to any person for the purpose of burning within an urban area unless such burning is in an approved outdoor fireplace or outdoor fire pit. Grass, brush pile burning, bum barrels and campfires are permitted in rural areas only.
Burn hours (Section 3.6)
No person shall set fires out of doors between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. during the months of April, May, June, July, August, September and October unless otherwise authorized.
Discretionary suspension (Section 3.12)
Where, in the opinion of the Fire Chief a potentially dangerous situation exists, due to fire, smoke, weather or environmental health concerns, the Fire Chief may refuse, suspend or rescind any permit.
Campfire size (Section 3.9)
the diameter of the campfire containment area does not exceed 110 cm... the material burned in the campfire is in a single pile that is less than 66 cm in height.
