What the by-law says

Permit required (Section 2.1)

No person shall start, set, maintain or permit to be started, set, or maintained an open-air fire within the Township, except as permitted under this By-Law. Only Open-air fires permitted under this By-Law shall be started, set or maintained.

Wind threshold (Section 2.4)

It is not permitted to set an Open-Air Fire when the wind velocity is greater than 15 kilometers an hour.

Dry period (Section 2.6)

It is not permitted to burn during a dry period as designated by the Fire Chief or the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Permit expiry (Sections 2.18-2.19)

Recreational and Brush permits expire Dec 31st at midnight on the year it was issued. Farm and Agricultural permits expire at midnight on the last day of the two-week period as set out in the permit in Schedule "A".

Farm/agricultural burning window (Section 5.4)

Burning shall not be permitted between July 1st and August 31st.
