Can I burn today in South Huron?
South Huron’s by-law does not set out what each fire danger rating allows, so this page cannot tell you whether today is a burning day. Today’s rating is beside this, and the fire hall below has the answer.

A rating is not permission. South Huron requires a permit, and a fire ban can be declared at any time. Municipality of South Huron Fire Department (Exeter, Dashwood, Grand Bend service areas) decides — not this page.
As approved by the Fire Chief (no fixed calendar expiry stated in the by-law)
Small confined cooking/grill/barbecue fires supervised by someone 16+ need no permit. All other open-air burning requires contacting the Fire Chief at 519-235-1981 to obtain a Fire Permit
Rural burns over 3 metres in diameter require prior notification
Once a permit is granted, notify the fire department at least 1 hour before igniting and again after fully extinguishing the fire.
